Dungeon Masters Guide!

The Dungeon Masters Guide is available for our Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition campaign. All credit goes to Chris Perkins who did an amazing job of compiling, editing, and house-ruling to assemble a fantastic version of D&D.

This book (which clocks in at 325 pages!) will be incredibly useful to me and our D&D game. It will be at our table probably by next session.

I put a quick cover together with art by grand master Jeff Easley!

Lots o' Races in D&D 5e

The final D&D Next playtest packet has been out for awhile now and there is a whole slew of races for players to choose from. Some you'll recognize from our AD&D 3 game and others are the more "monstrous" races that became common in 4th Edition. Just wondering what you guys think of this list. Would you want to play one of the more bizarre races?

There will probably be more once the game officially comes out.  I also think some of these races would not exist in some campaigns.

Here is the list so far (with appropriate male & female illustrations):

Hill Dwarf
Mountain Dwarf

High Elf
Wood Elf
Lightfoot Halfling
Stout Halfling

thanks to My D&D.
Drow Elf
Forest Gnome
Rock Gnome

(neither male nor female)

Do you think this will fit in the basement?

At almost $13,000 I think I can swing it. If you guys are willing to pitch in.

We could use these tables at the Hobby Hole.

Alicia's Birthday & D&D Sunday 8/25/13
Just a reminder about this Sunday. I suggest you review your characters.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.

I know most of you won't bother to watch this (its almost 20 minutes long!), but this fellow has some great suggestions on how to make our D&D sessions more fun for everyone at the table.

The Colossus of Ylourgne

New one over at The Art of Eugene Jaworski. Based on the story by Clark Ashton Smith.

The original story is online and can be read at Eldritch Dark.  It's a great (and gruesome) weird tale.

Here is the spell sheet. I think its a little nicer than keeping track of it on scratch paper.

New Character Sheet

Let me know if you have any questions. I think this one makes it a little simpler to look up everything you need during play.

Petty Gods

I'll be submitting two new pieces (and possibly more) to this project as they already have four I did previously. I'm really excited that Michael Moorcock (author and creator of Elric) is contributing as well.

A Wired article about

Fantastic news for old school D&D fans. Wizards of the Coast has opened up a new PDF store with an ever expanding library of classic D&D products.  The module "In Search of the Unknown" is free for the opening week of the store.  Check it out at
